Robert Conn Anecdotes
- The 16-Year-Old Veteran: When Rob broke into Junior B with the Barrie Colts, he was a 16-year-old high schooler matching wits and hits against physical 20-year-old men. Rather than backing down, his maturity and poise earned him the implicit respect of the locker room, leading to an Assistant Captain's "A" on his jersey by his second season.
- The Ultimate Utility Weapon: During the 1990–91 Junior B season, opposing coaches struggled to game-plan for Rob. He could completely shut down an opponent's top line at centre, drop back to play standard defence if injuries struck, and then slide up to anchor the left point on the power play to jumpstart the Colts' offense.
