Matthew Beleskey Highlights


  • Youth: Began his competitive hockey journey playing local minor hockey within the Barrie Minor Hockey Association (OMHA).
  • 2003–04: Advanced to the junior ranks, skating for the Collingwood Blues in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL).
  • 2004–08: Played four exceptional seasons for the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
  • 2006: Selected in the 4th round, 112th overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
  • 2007–08: Named Captain of the Belleville Bulls, leading his squad to the OHL Finals in a thrilling 7-game series and earning a spot on the OHL Third All-Star Team.
  • 2008–09: Made his professional debut, splitting time between the Iowa Chops (AHL) and skating in his first career NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks.
  • 2009–14: Cemented his role as a premier NHL power forward with the Anaheim Ducks, while providing veteran minor league support for franchises like the Toronto Marlies, Syracuse Crunch, and Norfolk Admirals.
  • 2012–13: Took his talents international during the NHL lockout, playing overseas for the Coventry Blaze in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).
  • 2014–15: Achieved a career-high 22-goal regular season in the NHL with Anaheim.
  • 2015: Exploded in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, netting 8 goals and 1 assist in 16 games during the Ducks' deep run to the Western Conference Finals.
  • 2015–18: Signed a high-profile multi-year contract with the Boston Bruins, bringing his signature grit and offensive power to the original-six franchise.
  • 2017–19: Continued his major league career with the New York Rangers, while anchoring the leadership core of the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).
  • 2020: Formally retired from professional hockey after compiling 477 career NHL games and 65 Stanley Cup Playoff appearances.
