Springwater Swing - Mayor’s Golf Tournament Contributes to Community Organizations
Springwater Township / November 13, 2014 – Several community organizations received much needed donations this week as a result of the Springwater Swing – The 8th Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament. The annual event, held in August, raises funds to support initiatives, events and organizations in the local community.
Springwater Sports Heritage, was the recipient of a $10,000 donation which will be used to assist in the creation of an online presence. The Board formed last year to honour, document and promote the achievements of those whose hard work and dedication has benefited athletics in Springwater.
"The Springwater Sports Heritage Board is grateful for this sizable donation," states Board Chair Larry Simpson "Since our inception it has been our mandate to preserve and celebrate Springwater’s impressive sports heritage. This donation will support our goal of creating an internet-based archive to honour and document athletes, memorabilia and stories of the past."
