Elmer McFadden Highlights


1946-47
     ♦       Elmer was instrumental in starting Hockey House League teams in Schomberg and Nobleton. 
1954-56
     ♦      In 1954 he coached Bantam hockey and in 1955- 56 refereed.
1957
     ♦      Formed Woodbridge Minor Hockey with Frank Troyer and was President for 13 years.
1960s
     ♦     Started House league and OMHA program for Woodbridge
           ​ Was convener for North Simcoe in the 60s while with Woodbridge hockey; also coached
            Woodbridge Peewees and refereed
1970s
     ♦     Elected to the OMHA executive.  For 10 years in charge of operation of referee schools for OMHA.
            Also in change in charge of York Simcoe league which meant scheduling all games between towns
            for Rep games and referees for the playoffs
1980s
     ♦     Elected third Vice President of the OMHA; also handled the Georgian Bay area. (The original person
            resigned and as  Elmer owned property and Springwater he was able to support that area until
            Mike Hammond was found to take over)
1984
     ♦     He retired from teaching and permanently moved back to his Springwater roots
1986-1988
     ♦     President of the OMHA
1988-98
     ♦     Past President of the OMHA and a liaison to the W0AA.  Many trips (10) were made overseas with
            teams in this liaison role (Barrie Peewees to Austria was one of them)
     ♦     Served as a member of the committee or chair to decide on the hearings or appeals of referee
            and/or OMHA rulings.
1999
     ♦     Elmer was elected as a Life Member of the OMHA.
Ongoing
     ♦     To this day he has worked on committees where needed.
