Dave Drinkill Highlights


  • 1998-99: Goalkeeper for the Elmvale Guardian Drugs Midgets, winning the All-Ontario OMHA Midget "C" Championship by defeating Harrow, Ontario.
  • 1999-00: Won back-to-back OMHA Championships with the Elmvale Guardian Drugs Midgets after defeating Wellesley; received the EMHA Goalkeeper Award.
  • 2006-15: Served in multiple crucial executive roles with the OHL's Barrie Colts, including Analyst, Video Coach, and Assistant General Manager (serving as AGM for five seasons).
  • 2011-12: Formally appointed Assistant General Manager of the Barrie Colts.
  • 2015-16: Appointed General Manager of the Major Junior "A" OHL franchise, the Saginaw Spirit.
  • 2015-26: Drafted and developed over 20 players who advanced to play in the National Hockey League (NHL).
  • 2023-24: Led the Saginaw Spirit to the ultimate Junior "A" success, winning the historic Memorial Cup; set a franchise record with a 50-win, 100-point regular season; named a finalist for OHL General Manager of the Year.
  • 2024-25: Nominated by Hockey Canada as the Director of Operations for Team Canada (U17 World Challenge), capturing a Silver Medal with Team Red in Truro, Nova Scotia.
  • 2025-26: Led Team Canada Red to a Gold Medal at the U17 World Challenge in Oakville, Ontario.
